Post Specification
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Understand the discipline and curriculum construction of the School of Medicine, undertake the liaison, coordination and support of library resources of the school, liaise with different suppliers or publishing houses to collect the medical relevant resources including books and periodicals (print and electronic), and network resources.
2. Responsible for the implementation of the budget and guidance for resource procurement of School of Medicine, such as purchasing all required resources according to government/university purchasing procedure.
3. In charge of the daily management and maintenance of the library of School of Medicine, including providing circulation desk service (book borrowing and returning, book shelves management, users consultation), fixed asset management and etc.
4. Participate in the daily management and maintenance of the library of university, including providing circulation desk service (book borrowing and returning, book shelves management, users consultation), cataloguing and checking all print book data, activating and managing e-resource data, etc.
5. Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science OR equivalent education and experience relevant to the position, medical background or advanced degrees is preferred.
2. More than 3-year professional experience working in an academic or research library.
3. Ability to work carefully and provide excellent service to users.
4. Team work consciousness, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to solve problems independently.
Salary & Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK(SZ) and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labour laws applicable in the PRC. The appointee will be based at the University campus in Shenzhen, PRC.
